I like grapefruit but my family does not. I left tons of good grapefruit in the trash..sad. I first only grabbed a few bags of vine ripened tomatoes which I need. After Going Inside The Store For Some things. I doubled back and grabbed corn, iceberg lettuce, and squash. Total value of about $20.

The downside
Empty dumpsters are bad but I actually hate the work that goes into cleaning and storing the food. If you don't do it same day you may lose the items. I waiting 2 days on my pkgs of corn and I had to toss them.
Tonight I cut and cleaned 3 califlowers, blackberries and more.

Today's haul
The last few days have been interesting. Tuesday's dd was full of onions. ..I mean hundreds of bags. I only took 1 bag and some bell peppers.
Wednesday was better.
2 containers of blackerries
2 bags of English muffins
1 pkg of corn on the cob
Approximately $12 worth
Today was even better
9 heads of cauliflower (split with a friend)
3 more pkgs corn (split)
3 pkgs blackberries
1 bag lemons
1 bag organic apples for homemade apple sauce
Approximately $38 worth split between myself and a friend
Now, I only take what I myself need or for a friend. In this case a close friend is having money trouble due to her spouses long unemployment after a layoff so I grab what she is willing to use. She doesn't like anything that can't be cooked or is in a sealed pkg like bread. I took her a box of food I had been collecting and she was so grateful as she is on a strict diet for health reasons and has to eat a lot of specific produce. Her husband and son can eat anything. It makes me feel good to know I can help her, my family and still leave more than enough food for the little old man who I know comes every afternoon to get food for himself and other elderly. I always leave for him no matter how little or a lot is in the dumpster.

Happy New Year
I Have No New Years Resolution. Unless you count finding a way to make more money so we are not always broke. But I do commit to more diving and more cooking!
Today was my first haul from my favorite spot in nearly 2 weeks!. I still have unused items from my last big dive but they have kept well...Most have.
Today's loot:
2 half gallons of skim milk
4 pkgs of squash
1 pkgs of blueberries
2 pomegranates (there were dozens but I have never used one before so I thought I would start small)
3 pkgs of dinner rolls
Not a huge score since I will give most of the squash to a friend. I don't drink cows milk but I use it to cook with.
There were broken wine bottles which bummed me out. We aren't big drinkers but like to have a nice cheap bottle of wine for company. They probably broke them on purpose.
Here is hoping for a profitable dumper diving 2014
